| Dr. Todd D. Severin |

Todd
D. Severin, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist, specializing
in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma. Todd was raised
in the Bay Area. He graduated pre-med with honors from Pomona
College in Claremont, California, where he also captained the
collegiate soccer and rugby teams. He completed his medical training
at the University of California Medical Center at San Diego,
where he graduated with honors in Medicine and Neurology and
was awarded the Lange Medical Publications Award for outstanding
research. After finishing his medical internship at a Stanford
University affiliate hospital, Dr. Severin returned to UCSD for
his residency in ophthalmology. He served as chief resident for
the department in 1992-93 and as Assistant Surgical Director
of the Flying Samaritans Eye Care Project in Tecate, Mexico.

Dr. Severin continued his post-residency
training and specialization at Baylor Medical Center in Houston,
Texas, where he completed a post-doctorate, clinical fellowship
in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma. Dr. Severin
has authored numerous scientific papers in the medical literature
and has been an invited lecturer at scientific meetings across
America, Europe and Asia. He serves as an Assistant Clinical
Professor at the University of California; Berkeley, where he
lectures extensively on the diagnosis and management of glaucoma.
Dr. Severin also conducts clinical, research at the University,
searching for new diagnostic and treatment modalities for glaucoma.
Dr. Severin is the
Medical/Surgical Director at the Refractive Surgery Center at
the University
of California Berkeley and Pacific Laser Eye Center in Danville.
Employing
the state of the art technology, Dr. Severin has performed thousands
of
Lasik and PRK procedures helping patients to overcome nearsightedness,
farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia.
Dr. Severin is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology
and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is
a member of the American Glaucoma Society, the Spaeth Glaucoma
Fellow Society the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology
and the California Medical-Association. His hobbies include skiing,
soccer, writing , collecting vintage era comic books , and
restoring vintage Volkswagen
automobiles. |
